Get on the CFL Bandwagon!

Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs (CFLs) use over 70% less energy than incandescent light bulbs, give the same amount of light, run much cooler and last up to 10 times longer.

CFLs:

  • Each compact fluorescent light bulb saves $30 in energy costs over its lifetime.
  • Generate less heat than incandescent bulbs.

  • Replace bulbs where you use lights the most – living room, kitchen, porch, dining room.

  • CFLs come in different subtle colors. Warmer colors work best to create a soothing atmosphere at home, and you can use a cooler color, like a light blue tinted bulb, for your office.

  • Choose a CFL that works at the same lumen rating (a measure of light output) as the light you are replacing.

  • Replacing a single incandescent bulb with a CFL will keep a half-ton of CO2 out of the atmosphere over the life of the bulb.
